Caregiver & Me Program at Studio Chassé
Our Caregiver & Me classes are a great way to introduce your little one to the wonderful art of dance! This class experience is carefully created for your developing child. Our goal is to instill a love of music and movement together with the person they love and trust the most, YOU! By experiencing dance class together your little one will grow in confidence and independence with you and your support guiding their way. You, as your child’s biggest fan, will learn the importance of movement in their development, share in their successes and cherish these moments for a lifetime. We want dance to become part of your everyday life, not just a weekly activity. This is a team effort, and we applaud you for joining your budding artist on this magical journey. Thank you for helping us create an unforgettable learning experience for your child! Let’s boogie!
Happy Toes (30 min) at Studio Chassé encourages the development of the budding artist inside every young child. This class is for little movers beginning at 6 months old and up who can sit (unassisted) and crawl. A parents/caregiver must participate with their little one. We explore movement using songs, stories, games, and props to activate imagination, increase body and spatial awareness, enhance socialization, and establish sense of joy through movement.

Caregiver Guide
We ask that each little dancer have a caregiver to participate with them (to the best of their ability) and help facilitate learning. It is okay if your little dancer is not fully participating as long as they are staying safe. Participation is different for each dancer. While one dancer may participate fully with their undivided attention, another little dancer may want to just watch in your lap first or explore a concept in a different way (tapping their shaker eggs together instead of shaking them). Again, as long as they are staying safe, they are learning!
The five actions that we consider unsafe are:
-
Climbing the cubbies
-
Hanging from/flipping on the ballet barres mounted to the walls
-
Running full speed into the mirrors
-
Throwing hard plastic props (shaker eggs, rhythm sticks, cones, etc.)
-
Hitting/kicking/biting or trying to pick up others off the ground

If your little dancer is doing one of these actions or anything you consider unsafe, please gently reroute their attention back to what the class is doing.
If your dancer is observing or not wanting to do a certain activity (won’t try standing on the "tall mountain" during obstacle course time, is leery about traveling on the balance beam) this is not considered a bad behavior or "not listening." They will participate when they are ready, just give them time! They are taking it all in! We do not consider observing and not dancing a "bad" behavior so please do not label it as such.
Please note: How you discipline your child is your choice but while on the premises of Studio Chassé there will be no spanking, hitting, shouting, or threatening of any kind by parents, caregivers, guardians, etc. to a child. We consider this abuse, and it will not be tolerated in our presence. Click here for more about class management and safety at Studio Chassé.
